Friends of Page Park
Please click on the BT Donate link to donate easily and securely. This is our preferred method to receive donations as it enables us to reclaim Gift Aid easily, which increases the funds we have to assist with our restoration work.
The Friends were awarded charitable status in the summer of 2014. Our primary means of obtaining funding is by applying to a variety of funds and grant-giving organisations together with donations from the public. The application process can be very time-consuming but if successful then it is worth every minute and enables us to organise various events for the community, buy plants for the Sensory Garden and fund all the other projects we undertake.
The Bandstand restoration was a joint effort of a donation from the Page family, which then enabled us to secure £90,000 of funding from three landfill trusts.
We have two main goals for our future fundraising:
1. to continue to organise community events; and
2. to restore the park and its facilities for future generations.
In January 2016 South Gloucestershire council has been awarded a Stage 2 pass with an estimated £1.6 million fund to restore our park. This is amazing news for the local community.
As part of the Heritage Lottery agreement, both South Gloucestershire Council and the Friends are required to contribute to the balance of the overall project cost of £2 million. This sum has been adjusted in line with Heritage Lottery advice but to enable us to fullfil our wish list we urgently need to raise funds.
WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!
The Friends would like your help to raise funds for this project. Our main aim is the restoration of the clock tower and chiming clock. As with the bandstand project we will apply to grant and funding organisations but we are asking our community, local residents and businesses to support us by donating to our Restoration fund. We would also like to raise funds to improve the Teen Play area and improve the old play area. No money has been set aside for these two items and they are both important things which we'd like to help with.
Donations can also be handed in to Brunt and Fussell Estate Agents, Broad Street, Staple Hill or cheques, payable to The Friends of Page Park can be sent to
